There are a number of ways in which universities, college and employers can weed out these fake qualifications.
fraudulent documents, or fake degrees and diplomas, has been going on since antiquity, but it is only in the last ten to fifteen years that educational fraud or ‘fake qualifications’ have really become a worldwide problem. There are two main reasons for this: firstly, academic qualifications have gained increasing commercial value.
Degrees or other qualifications from unaccredited institutions may not be accepted by civil service or other employers. Some unaccredited institutions have formal legal authorization to enroll students or issue degrees, but in some jurisdictions (notably including the United States) legal authorization to operate is not the same as educational accreditation.
Some of the institutions on this list are no longer in operation. Several unaccredited universities have names that are similar to those of accredited institutions, and thus some persons may be misled into thinking that an entity is an accredited university.
Listed are some of the fake universities in India. They are not recognized by the regional or national accreditation agencies in India. They doesn't even have right to issue a degree certificate. The University grants commission act 1956 under section 22(1) provides a degree that can be awarded , only by University established under the central , state provisional act or an institution deemed to be University .under section 3 of the UGC Act or an institution especially empowered by an act of parliament to confer the degree.
Further section 23 of the UGC act prohibits the use of word University by an institution other than a university established as stated above. Student and public at large are hereby informed that at present following 22 self styled. Unrecognized institution are functioning in contravention of the UGC act in various parts of the country.
