How the Mammary gland stem cells activates during time of puberty

High resolution imaging of ducts in the mammary gland was critical for the discovery of how their growth is triggered in puberty. Credit: Walter and Eliza Hall Institute, Australia A group of researcher from Walter and Eliza Hall Institute, Australia has got milestone in how the growth of milk producing mammary glands are triggered during the period of puberty. They have recently published it's paper today in journal of "Developmental cell" According to published paper they discovered that sleeping stem cell in the mammary gland are awoken by FoxP1 Transcription factor. Highlight of Fox1 Fox p1 is transcription factor which is essential for mammary glands growth and development and it control the activation of quiescent MaSCs  marked by Tspan8. Fox1 directly repressed the transcription of Tspan8 in basal but , not in luminal cells. Tspan8 deletion rescue the Foxp1 deficient mammary phenotype. The researchers enlighten our knowledge of how the mammar...
