Every year On-line applications for JRF/NET are invited twice a year. Department/ National Laboratories and Institutions in various fields of Science. Only bonafide Indian citizens are eligible for this test.


CSIR/UGC Fellowships are tenable in Universities/IITs/Post Graduate Colleges/Govt. Research Establishments including those of the CSIR, Research & Development establishments of recognized public or private sector industrial firms and other recognized institutions.





2. DBT-JRF by Department of Biotechnology GOI

DBT JRF program was initiated in 2004 to provide fellowships for biotech students pursuing research in universities and / or research institutions in the country. Students are selected through online Biotechnology Eligibility Test (BET). 275 fellowships can be awarded every year.  The Department of biotechnology wishes to encourage applications from a wide range of candidates and the Fellowships are available in all branches of title as biotechnology.



3. GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering)

GATE is an all India level examination which acts as an entrance test for Indian students pursuing engineering. The test opens doors for post graduate courses for the candidates who clear the test. The test is a joint venture between The Indian Institute of Science and the 7 IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) across the country. There is one single paper which consists of both MCQs (multiple choice questions) and numerical questions.


Approximately 10 lakh students appear for the examination annually of which only 15 per cent qualify. Candidates need to have a percentile higher than 99 to make it to the IITs.



4. ICMR-JRF by Indian Council of Medical Research ( ICMR)

The ICMR provides research projects developed at the ICMR with structured oversight, guidance and academic support throughout a Three year calendar. The aim is to support long-term needs of research groups, both scientifically and for professional development, This endeavour has experienced remarkable success, with the annual cohorts having completed all aspects of the programme.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in collaboration with Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research(PGIMER), Chandigarh will hold a National Level phd Degree examination for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), for Indian national candidates at Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Srinagar.

5. ASRB ICAR National Eligibility Test

The ASRB ICAR NET is a popular Biotechnology exam of the country taken by more than 2 lakh candidates every year. the ASRB ICAR NET is considered to be more of a test evaluating the speed of person to solve problems rather than intellectual depth. For admission into the various reputed institution of India, one needs to take the Agricultural National Entrance Test.
The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) will hold ICAR-NET  Examination during  December (which may be extended to January, depending on the number of candidates) in Online mode at 34 Centres across India in a staggered slot-wise examination format.
