NBPGR’s long term goal  is to develop scientific  consensus on a broad PGR management strategy, which encompasses, inter-alia, the role and  responsibility of  different disciplines in  research with an aim of  enhanced utilization of  the PGR for achieving  food and nutritional security for all times to come.This vision  document of NBPGR  will serve as a useful  starting point and set the foundation for contemplating future possibilities for realizing  full potential of PGR in  constantly meeting  grave challengesfaced  by agriculture.

Project title : "Life cycle ctyobiotechnology of orchids for bio resources and sustainable development"

Principal investigator : Dr.Rekha chaudhary, pr. Scientist and principal investigator of the Project ICAR NBPGR, New building pusa campus New Delhi.

Funding agency : Funded by DBT Institute of bio resources and sustainable development ( IBSD) Imphal.

Stipend :Selected candidates get monthly stipend of Rs.25,000/- per month plus HRA 30% per month.

Essential qualifications: candidates must have completed Msc degree in botany, agricultural, plant biotechnology, plant genetic resource, horticulture, plant physiology, life science and biotechnology are eligible to attend walk in interview. Those with three years bachelor degree must have qualified any of the national level entrance examination like CSIR UGC net, GATE, DBT, ICMR, entrance examination or PhD degree in any of the above discipline are eligible to apply.

Desirable qualifications
Candidates must have experienced in study of orchids, plant tissue culture, plant conservation, plant morphology and physiology during Msc, PhD


Duration of Project
Post of JRF is time bound and of contractual engagement of non regular  nature of the limited period of the Project duration only

Age limit : candidates age not more exceeding than 35 years on date of interview. Age limit are relaxable for SC/ST candidates as per government rules and regulations.

Rules and regulations
The appointment will be  on contractual basis/  purely temporary and  co-terminus with the  project, and the  incumbent shall not  have any claim for  regular appointment  under  ICARR.

The candidate must  bring one set of their  complete biodata in  original, reprints of  papers with selfattested  copies of the  testimonials(certificates,  mark sheets and  degrees) from  matriculate onwards  and age proof with two  passport size  photographs along with  all originals with them. 

The period of  appointment JRF will  be initially for a period of  two year and is likely to  be extended further on a  yearly basis subject to  satisfactory  performance of  candidate.

The JRF may also leave the  assignment, on their  own volition, by giving  one month notice.

At  the end of the  contracted period, the young people will have no right to claim any employment or  engagement in the NIBMG.

No TA/DA will be paid for appearing  in interview. No  separate letter will be  issued.

Candidates fulfilling the Essential Qualification only need to attend the walk-in-interview. Candidate should mention for which group, he is going to appear in the prescribed Performa for the interview.
