Biotechnology is multidimensional field in which biological processes, organisms , cells and cellular products are exploited to develop to enlighten the society. And carried out dynamic findings in biotechnology fields. Biotechnology is research oriented field it totally based on research and advanced development.

If you are looking for simple and ideal biotech experiment, life science experiment, biological science experiment, to do at home. Here today we are collecting some advanced experiment to enlighten and enlarge your knowledge.

Here are the top  best experiments you can do at your home.

1. Extract your own DNA

www.yourbiotech.in

Everyone of our cells contain the molecular blueprints of our body that makes you. Extracting DNA from your anyone of cell is surprisingly very simple. Biotechnology makes it very easy, you can isolate your own DNA in few minutes in your home. Once you have  isolate your DNA sample, you can see your DNA fragments in DNA copying machine or by electrophoresis.

Requirements for isolating DNA
  1. A clean shot glass.
  2. Table salt.
  3. Alcohol
  4. Saliva ( as DNA sample)
  5. Detergent/ dish soap
  6. Pineapple juice
  7. Toothpick
  8. Drinking straw.
Steps/procedure to extract your own DNA
1. Split into shot glass and and confirm it is full of your saliva.

2. Add few drop of detergent to breaks your cell by process called lysing.

3. Add small amount of pineapple juice. This clean up your cell proteins.

4. Add pinch of table salt in to mixture this causes DNA clamping.

5. Now spin the shot glass to mixed up the ingredients.

6. Add alcohol in shot glass which should sit in layers of top the mixture.

7. Now put the straw into alcohol, cap it with your finger, hold the straw right over the liquid in the shot glass and release .

8. Last step is use the toothpick to spoil up the cloudy sno like material that has form it the glass. This is your DNA.

9. You can see your DNA fragments in DNA copying machine and in the electrophoresis.

2. Culture/growing bacteria on homemade agar.

www.yourbiotech.in

Growing bacteria is one of the most popular activity in every biotech, microbiology, life science and biological science students life. As we know we can not see microscopic microorganisms naked eye. But we can see by  naked eye the colonies of such microorganisms like bacteria, viruses etc.
For culturing bacteria you have to need
  1. Nutrient Agar
  2. Autoclave/pressure cooker/microwave
  3. Bacterial sample
  4. Petri dish
  5. Light source for incubation

Steps/procedure to culture bacterial sample

1. Mixed the nutrients with agar and water in equal measure and boil it in autoclave/pressure cooker/microwave till to complete dissolve agar.

2. Remove the mixture and allow to cool it .

3. Take petri dish and half filled with nutrient agar medium and allow to solidify.

3. Now it's time to collect the sample, you can collect bacterial sample from different places like mud, pod, river, mouth , hand, your kitchen room, table, mobile phones, air , water etc collect your sample on end of cotton swab and draw lightly on nutrient agar medium.

4. Keep the petri dish for 2-3 day incubation in normal light source or in sunlight.

5. After 2-3 days of incubation yow will see the colonies of bacteria on agar plates.

Your culturing bacteria experiment on home made agar is successfully completed.

3. Ferment your own food

www.yourbiotech.in

Ferment your own food at home it's very easy. Ferment ed food are undefined good for us. Fermentation it is one of the oldest methodcof preservation that enhance the nutrients content of the food . The action of bacteria produce vitamins and enzyme that are beneficial for all the part of our body.

In home almost all food you can be fermented and produce fresh food. Here are the steps by which you can fermented food in your home.

  1. Choose your fermentation equipment.
  2. Prepare your food for fermentation.
  3. Prepare small amount of inoculate.
  4. Weight your food.
  5. Add all ingredients into fermented.
  6. Start your fermentation.
The health benefits of consuming fermented foods are somewhat endless and can improve the function of your immunity system.

4. Make algae bioluminescent lamp

www.yourbiotech.in

Meny microorganisms like dinoflagelates a species of algae which illuminates the light. Dinoflagelates which can fast and rapidly multiply in right combination of sunlight and nutrients you can grow this algae at home and experience the beautiful natural bio luminescence.

Here are the steps to grow and create you own bioluminescence lamp.

  1. Choose the right type of dinoflagelates.
  2. Buy the material to create proper condition for growth of algae.
  3. Wash your container and find place in your house to grow algae culture.
  4. Poured your nutrient solution and algae culture into container.
  5. Give proper light source.
  6. Regular spin the algae solution and watch it grow.
  7. Keep the algae for four to six months for proper growth.
  8. Your bio luminescence lamp is ready.

5. HomeMade Genetically engineered plant

www.yourbiotech.in

Now  you can produce your own genetically engineered plant in your home. It simple process now you can make your own plant by budding and cutting methods.

6. Make your Homemade wine
Requiment :

Now a days you can produce wine in your home with the help of fermentation. The most advanced field of biotechnology.

Requirements require for homemade wine making :
  1. Filtered water .
  2. Grape fruit.
  3. Honey
  4. Yeast.
Steps of making your homemade wine.
1. Crush the grape fruit make a juice of grapes.

2. Now mixed honey with grape juice.

3. Then add the yeast into the mixture.

4. Place the whole culture for overnight incubation.

5. Now daily spin the mixture for few times in a day.

6. After one -two months collects your wine and enjoy.

Above experiment is not only for biotechnology professional but also for the every students of biotechnology, life science, biological science, microbiology, biochemistry, biophysics advanced experiment which can everyone can do this experiment at home. If you have any questions related to the above mentioned experiment you can ask us by commenting on the article.

Scientist unplugged 10 Defense machanism in Bacteria

VIRAL ATTACK   Viruses called phages (shown landing on the surface of a cell in this transmission electron micrograph) can infect and kill bacteria. Scientists have just found a slew of new defense mechanisms that help bacteria resist such assaults. Credit: Sciencenews Since long decade researcher are looking for new defense mechanism in bacteria against viral invaders. There is only and alone immune system of bacteria "CRISPR" which protects bacteria from virus attacks. Now recent research of researcher have discovered TEN set of genes which protects which protects bacteria from virus invaders, A Microbiologist from university of California, San Diego's, Joseph bondy Denomy says the inventions Doubles the protective mechanism of immune system known in bacteria. Bacteria are vulnerable to deadly virus called bacteriophages which uses the bacterial genetic machine for there own purposes and replicate itself and produce viral DNA. Meny of the bacteria are la...

Imagine world without Biotechnology ?

Over the past Two years, I have always wondered and surprised how life would be without the massive Biotechnological inventions of today. Perhaps everyone wonders the same thing. We are in the 21st century! Yeah, I am supposed to embrace biotechnology, it's something that is inborn, something that I found and cannot imagine my life without. But what would I do without this precious gift? Life back in the day would be a nightmare. Ideally, much of the paper will focus on how life would be without biotechnology by basing the argument on all spheres of life. Imagine living in a world where Biotechnology didn’t exist. That Antibiotics, you have, Computers you’re reading on, or even that nice Food you Eat, all gone with a single blink of an eye. From cultured meat to a “MicrobeMiner” for antibiotics and liquid biocomputers, a new wave of consumer biotechnology products is transforming the world. The world you would be living in would be nothing but an empty, dark and cold...
